Methane-D4
Methane-D4
Product description
Methane D4 with a 99,9% chemical purity. Methane D4 is a deuterated derivative of methane. It has an isotopic purity of 99.5atom%D.
Applications
Precursor
Methane-D4 can be used as a precursor to produce deuterated hydrocarbon cations (CDx+, where x=2−4) via electron impact ionization. These ions are then utilized in ion-surface collision experiments to study the interaction of small deuterated hydrocarbons with beryllium thin films. The purpose of these studies is to investigate physical and chemical sputtering processes and to understand the dissociation and energy transfer mechanisms at the molecular level, which are relevant for materials used in fusion reactors [1].
